Wattless

Watt less circuits

Circuits containing pure inductance or capacitors or their combination consume zero power on the average due to there zero power factor. Hence are known as WATTLESS circuits.

Any circuit in which resistance is present, consumes power but in the absence of resistance net power consumed is 0.

Wattles current

I sinθ is perpendicular to V

∴ It’s phase angle is (π/2) so it doesn’t produced any power. Such a current is known as wattles current.

On the other hand I cosθ in parallel to V

It phase angle in 0. Therefore entire power is produced by such a current. Hence is known as useful current.
