Flow of AC through Conductor

FLOW OF AC THROUGH A CONDUCTOR

1. When AC flows through a conductor charges execute SHM.

2. For 1st half cycle they move in the forward direction and for next half cycle they move in the backward direction.

3. In each half cycle there speed varies from 0 to max to 0 according to the sine graph.

4. Net charge flowing in one complete cycle of AC in zero.

5. There is no transference of charge from one part to the other part of the conductor but energy is transferred  in similar manner as in waves.
