Density of Lattice Matter

Density of Lattice Matter:-

It is defined as the ratio of mass per unit cell to the total volume of unit cell.

Density of lattice matter = mass per unit cell / Volume of unit cell

Density of lettice matter = n x atomic mass / Avogadro number x volume of unit cell.

e = n x atomic mass or molar mass / Avogadro number x volume of unit cell

e = n x atomic mass / avg. no. x a3

a is edge length of cube

n is number of atoms per unit cell;

Volume of unit cell is to be derived from given crystal system. It is equal to a3 for cubic crystal systems.
