1. Medicines:-  Medicines in colloidal form are easily absorbed by the body tissues and hence are more effective.
2. Sewage disposal:- The sewage contains dirt particles suspended in water and form colloidal solution. When it is passed through the plates at high potential, the dirt gets co- agulated and is removed as precipitated mass.
3. Purification of drinking water:- The water contains impurities in the form of colloidal particles. When potash Alum is added to it these particles are removed as precipitated mass.
4. Formation of Date:- The river water contains many impurities in the form of dissolved colloids. When this water comes in contact with the sea water containing many dissolved salts (Electrolytes = Ions), the colloidal particles are get co-agulated and sediments forming the delta.
5. Smoke precipitation:-  smoke coming out as industrial wastes contains colloidal particles. When high voltage is applied in the chimney these particles get precipitated and the smoke becomes dust free and reduces pollution.
