Extraction of Zinc:-

The reduction of Zinc oxide is carried out by using Coke. It is clear from Ellingham Diagram that reduction of ZnO with C occurs at a higher temp than the reduction of Cu₂O with C.

Since Boiling Point of Zn is low (1180k) the metal is purified by distillation.
