Reproductive Health–Problems and Strategies to overcome problems:

A society with people having physically and functionally normal reproductive organs and normal emotional and behavioural interactions among them in all sex-related aspects might be called reproductively healthy.

Problems:

1) There is little knowlwdge of personal hygiene and hygiene of reproductive organs. It makes them prone to sexually transmitted diseases.

2) Due to lack of education, there is a nonstop increase in population size.

3) Due to early marriages, there is a rapid increase in mother and infant (mortality) death rates.

4) Due to lack of education and proper knowledge about sex related problems, people encourage myths and misconceptions about sex related problems.

Strategies to overcome reproductive heath related problems:

2) ‘Reproductive and Child Health Care (RCH) Programmes are also launched in India,  for making a  reproductively  healthy society by creating self awareness among people about all sex related aspects.

3) Many visual and printing media are also creating awareness among people about reproduction and other related aspects.

4) Introduction of sex education among students is must in schools to make them aware about it.

5) Educating people about the use of conceptions, proper care of infants and mother, importance of breast feeding, and many more things is also a part of government aids.

6) Awareness programmes to control increasing population size for a healthy and educated society are a;so launched.

7) Statutory ban on amniocentesis (a foetal sex determination test based on the chromosomal pattern in the amniotic fluid surrounding the developing embryo) for sex-determination to legally check increasing female foeticide.
