Mendels theory of Inheritance:

Mendel had choosen the pea plant for his experiments to show laws of inheritance.

Why he had choose Pea Plant:-

1) Characters of Pea Plant are easily detectable.

2) It has short life cycle.

3) It has bisexual flowers, so self pollination can occur.

4) Cross pollination can also occur by removing stamens (emasculation).

5) This plant is easily  available produces many sees in one generation

6) It also produces true breeds when self pollinated.
