Food Chain:-

It is linear or straight arrangement of trophic level in an ecosystem.

Shorter food chain has more energy.

Types of Food Chain:-

1. (a) Grazing food chain:- (GFC)

Food chain start from etreme plant. It directly depend on influx of solar radiation.

It is major food chain in aquatic ecosystem.

b. Grassland food chain:-

Grass → Insect → Frog → Snake → Hawk  

c. Aquatic food chain:-

Zooplankton → Small fish → Large fish

2. Detritus food chain:-

Food chain start from dead organic matter or detritus. It indirectly depend on influx of solon radiation.

• It is major food chain in terrestrial ecosystem because in terrestrial ecosystem.

3. Parasitic food chain:-

Food chain starts from larger organism and lend with smaller organisms

Tree → Birds → Ecto parasite

There is a loss of energy by 10%
