Red data book
Red Data book:-
IUCN maintain the document of threatened species called Red Book data.
Basic utility of Red list system is to create awareness about conservation of threatened species.
IUCN Red list system was initiated in 1963. In 2000, Red list system contain assessment of more than 18 thousand species. Out of there 15,500 species are threatened.
RED DATA BOOK INCLUDE (8) CATEGORY OF ANIMALS:-
1. Extinct:- The species which are present today.
2. Extinction in wild:- The species which got extinct much eaulech and at present are studied by human in the form of fossils.
3. Critically endangered :- They are at maximum risk of extinction. E.g;_ Tiger in India
4. endangered Species:- Risk of extinction but not maximum e.g.:- (1) Rolfin (medicinal)
(2) Red panda in India.
(5) Vulnerable species:- Now a days not a risk of extinction but in recent future it will become endangered. e.g.:- Rusk dear
(6) Low risk species:-
(7) Data Deficient:-Data not available yet.
(8) Not evolution:- They are still kept in the category of 1 to 7.
