Human Endocrine glands:

Endocrine glands are of two types:

·       Purely endocrine glands: They secrets only hormones. Ex. – hypothalamus, thyroid, para-thyroids, adrenal, pituitary & Pineal.

·       Partly endocrine glands: they act as heterocrine as they act more as endocrine & partly as exocrine. Ex- kidney, pancreas, gonads, placenta & Mucus membrane of alimentary canal.
