Colchicine:

• (C₂₂H₂₅O₆H) is an alkaloid commonly used as mitotic poison (to stop mitosis).
• It does not allow spindle formation.
• Mostly used at metaphase of mitosis, because chromosomes appear more clear and easily visible at this phase.
