Excretory organ: Malphigian tubules

Distinctive features:

  • It is the largest phylum of animalia kingdom.
  •   The body of arthropods is externally covered by chitinous exoskeleton.
  • The body consists of head, thorax and abdomen.
  • They have jointed appendages, thats why these are called arthros (joint)  poda(appendages).
