CHEMICAL NATURE OF DETRITUS:-

(1) When detritus is nitrogen rich them very fast role of decomposition occurs.

(2) When detritus is carbohydrate or starch, then fast rate of decomposition.

(3). If detritus is cellular rich then slow rate of decomposition is there.

(4) Bt detritus rich in chitin and lignin has very show rate of decomposition.
